5 QUESTIONS WITH SOPHIE

Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines
5 questions with guest interview

Hi I'm Sophie, a blogger from Yorkshire, England. I blog at Love and Literature, and write about lifestyle, mental health and book reviews.  My preferred genres are contemporary fiction, young adult and historical fiction - but I do love a good Classic too! I'm also a huge film and theatre fan, and my passion lies in the film and TV industry, both on and off camera.

1. How similar is your love life from the books you have read?

Not all all, I'm afraid! I'm asexual and have never been in a relationship, so I relate most of all to Georgia from Alice Oseman's Loveless who learns to understand her sexuality with the help of her friends.

2. What ignited your love for literature?

Ooo, I've been a huge literature lover for as long as I can remember! My parents used to read me stories each night before bed, and I've always studied literature at school. I enjoy a whole range of genres, yet after I studied Victorian literature at A Level, I began to enjoy the classics too.

3. If you had the chance to make up your love story, what book plots would you integrate it with?

I really enjoy books that take you on a journey and are both super creative and imaginative. So, anything along the lines of Erin Morgenstern's The Starless Sea or Alix E. Harrow's The Ten Thousand Doors of January would be my ideal love story.

4. What was something you lost that you're still trying to get back?

Okay, this is quite a deep answer so, prepare yourselves. The first thing that popped into my head is 'childhood' because I think, as children, people tend to perceive the world as a more positive and hopeful place, and tend to be easily excited, and I kinda wish that I could feel that again. I could have just said the 50p coin that fell down the sofa two weeks ago, but still! :P

5. Have you ever tried feeling something closest to magic? What was it?

The closest I've felt to magic was visiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London, it was such a wonderful experience and truly magical day!
