5 questions with guest interviews

Hi, I’m maddie! I’m 16 years old and live in North Yorkshire, UK. I’m a lifestyle blogger, talking about a wide range of different subjects and I also document my journey to becoming a Private Pilot over on my Instagram. I love speaking and getting to know to new people on Instagram so come have a chat!

1. What is the best response to spite?

In my opinion, I feel not giving a reaction is the most powerful response. If a person is being spiteful towards you, it reflects on them and them only- and implies perhaps they are insecure themselves and feel the need to take it out on others. I truly stand by the incentive that you should never take criticism of any sort, whether it be personal or not, from somebody who you would never go to for advice.

2. Do you think it’s necessary to cut off a friendship after one mistake? Why or why not?

I think it would depend on what the mistake was, if it was a bad one then perhaps yes it would be necessary, but If it’s something minor that you would feel comfortable sorting out then no, however once the trust in a relationship or friendship is gone, it can be really hard to build that back up again, and that’s something I find especially hard.

3. What is your message to anyone who is at rock bottom?

Every situation is temporary, and no matter what your facing now, it will get better. We experience bad times in life so we can realise our inner strength. You don’t have to be winning at life every single day, it’s ok to take a break, it’s ok to be sad, just make sure you don’t ever give up. No matter how alone you feel, there is always someone who can help. Don’t suffer in silence.

4. How far would you go to achieve a dream?

I’m a very determined person, I always like to find lessons out of my mistakes and use them to grow. I wouldn’t stop at anything to achieve my dreams and with hard work I can get there. Especially with the career field I am aiming to go into, is one which has been very negatively impacted by this years events, but I’ve made adaptations and have remained motivated to get there- which is so important. With dedication and hard work you can achieve anything you like.

5. What are the things that scare you the most?

Needles 😂 (I HATE them!)

But on a serious note, one thing that scares me is the thought of re-winding to 20 years time, and finding out I’d settled for a life I wasn’t really happy with, not achieving things I’ve dreamed of, or that I hadn’t been travelling. We only get one life and it’s too short not to go after our dreams- it’s so important that we live life to the full and find the good in each day.
